Brief History, Timetable, Event Information, Rules and Regulations.

Altona Little Athletics is held at Sugargum Drive, Altona on most Saturday mornings during the spring and summer. ALAC is committed to promoting Fun, Family and Fitness. The program commences at  8.45am & is generally finished by 12.00pm.   Every age group (under 7-15) with the exception of under 6 (see more about on track here) compete in five athletics events each week. Athletes compete for one of the 6  clubs (Altona Meadows/Laverton, Altona, Seaholme, Westona, St Mary's and Altona North) while competing against other athletes and striving for their own personal success - whether that be to learn a new skill, achieve a P.B or finish in a certain position.

Brief History

The Altona Little Athletics Centre is affiliated with the Victoria Little Athletics Association (VLAA) and is the 41st Centre to be established in Victoria. The Altona Centre began when three clubs, Altona North, Seaholme and Westona left the Williamstown Centre to start competition closer to home. The Altona and St Mary's Clubs helped form the new centre and the 1969/70 season saw five clubs competing in Altona. In the early years the Altona East club formed but has since folded In 1994 the Laverton club joined the Altona Centre after the Laverton Centre folded.

Timetable

ALAC runs on a three week program. To View time table Click here: Timetable                                             N.B: Under 6's participate in the 'On Track' program.  Therefore they only participate in the 70m, 100m and 150m.
